When i type a something in the search menu the settings have changed so it is no longer automatically google used to search, instead a random site is now the search engine, how can i change it back? thanks :)

When i type a something in the search bar at the top of the screen my computer settings have somehow changed and it no longer automatically uses google to search, instead a random site i visited is now the search engine, how can i change it back to google as my search engine? thanks :)

When you click on the small drop-down arrow in the search bar is Google listed? If it is click on it to select it. If Google is not listed, click on "Manage search engines" at the bottom of the drop-down list, then in the dialog box that opens click on "Restore Defaults".
