When I download a file from a site (e.g. a Word or PDF file) the Downloads window pops up and the file downloads. However, instead of actually opening the file automatically as FF used to, I have to go to the Downloads window and double click on the file to open it.

This wasn't the case before - any ideas where the settings have changed?

i thought you can check firefox main window -> tools ->options -> application programs settings...there...to see how you configured the default actions with the pdf and doc files...

That area only seems to let me choose what application to use to open these files--it doesn't allow me to set the downloads to open automatically--or does it?
