I received an email from one of the moderators asking whether this version of HP SimplePass for Egistec can be a replacement for Digital Persona.
I don't know if this can be a replacement. I do have a friend that uses DP in his system so I will try to see if he is willing to test. If you wish to try, do create a restore point so in case it doesn't work, you can easily recover your system.
Great news for all of You using DigitalPersona. I've checked and I can confirm that the EgisTec version is a successful replacement for DigitalPersona. I use it on my dv7 and it works with Firefox 4 perfectly! Just uninstall DigitalPersona version and then after reboot install the one from EgisTec. Ta-dam!

Ok, I MUST be doing something wrong. I have a dv7 as well. I uninstalled HP Simplepass 2011 and installed the version on the above listed link. I can open the software, however it doesn't seem to recognize my fingerprint reader. Any thoughts?
This is awesome news! But I have a problem: is it only me, or you couldn't restore saved passwords from the previous HP SimplePass?
I did a backup as advised in the above thread, uninstalled old HP version, installed this new one, works fine BUT I have lost all my previous logins.
When I go on restore, it says that the file either got damaged or it's not a valid SimplePass backup file - which is not true, I have been saving my passwords monthly and always worked fine before.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance!

If you have a Validity Sensor, try downloading the updated set of drivers from the link below:

Then try installing Simplepass. Hope it helps!
Any solution to restore accounts?

Does anyone have any solutions that will work for someone using DigitalPersona Personal in Windows Vista 64? I've tried the Simple Pass program but it didn't work, I think because it is a Windows 7 version...
Update: the workaround only works till FF4. Firefox 5 completely debunks it.
I have e-mailed Egistec Customer Service. Will be curious to hear what estimated time they will advise for coming out with an upgrade so that we can use SimplePass with Firefox 5.
Thanks Dundy ...... I hope they (Egistec) get around to having the update soon for Firefox 5. Do keep us posted please .....
What's their email address? I can pester them as well, but I can't for the life of me find one on their website.

You have to register.
Just an update: no response from Egistec whatsoever so far.
And still no answer, no update from Egistec. Pretty disappointing that they cannot even answer my email.
Hey guys I'm not sure why they haven't gotten back to Dundy but I sent their team a message and got this reply:
