I have downloaded version 4.0, and now when I type in a website or topic and hit the search bar, nothing happens?

In the search location,in the middle of the screen where you type in a search topic or website, the topic shows up in the space. But when I hit the search bar, nothing happens. Below this is another bar that I don't what it's for. Below that it says "would I like to return to previous session. But when I put the curcer on it that doesn't do anything ether. It;s just not working.
