Yesterday, I got the automatic notification to update my Firefox to Firefox 5. I did so, but I found that certain websites I used to be able to access (that required a Java plugin) were no longer working.

I found this link http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using%20the%20Java%20plugin%20with%20Firefox#w_enabling-java and tried to follow the instructions but when I clicked on Plugins, there was no Java Plugin to be found. I also could not find it in the Add Ons Manager.

I use a Macbook Pro and my Java software is up to date. It is only with Firefox that I am getting a "Java not enabled" error.

Please help.

Thanks.

Ok, I think I solved my own problem. I reinstalled Firefox 4 and got the same problem. I reinstalled Firefox 3.6.18 and the sites that need the Java applet/plugin now work again. I'm going to stick with this version of Firefox and forget about updating in the future.
