many extensions disabled in FF 6.0
I just updated FF to 6.0 from 5.0 and lost almost 20 extensions - including all of Java, plus some from Norton and Skype!! Several WEB sites no longer work properly because the extensions are gone, so I've lost function!!
When will I be able to get these back? How can I go back to FF 5.0??
Also a suggestion: When a new version is available, and before installation, let the user know what functions (e.g. plug-ins; extensions; etc.) are not compatible with the new version. This would help the user decide whether to install the new version.

The update procedure does tell you exactly what isn't compatible and will be disabled, and gives you the option of not proceeding with the update.
- Norton has a compatibility patch for Firefox 6.
http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Update-Available-Firefox-6-0-Compatibility-Patch/td-p/512484 - The Java Console add-on is probably what was disabled. If you aren't doing Java development, you don't need that add-on. I can see in the Installed Plugins listing next to your posting that Java itself is still enabled.
- As far as Skype, check with them for an update.
For the un-named extensions, you either have a bunch of extensions installed from other than the official Add-ons website and those extensions are lacking an updateURL where Firefox can look for an update, or with add-ons from the official Add-ons website, the developer hasn't yet updated his extension or waited till the last minute to submit a new version for Firefox 6 and it is waiting for review. Mozilla automatically updates add-ons that pass "muster" as being compatible in the week before to Firefox update, and notifies developers of add-ins that need actual fixes - so it boils down to the developers to fix their stuff.
Beyond that, you could try the ACR extension and see for yourself what works.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I updated a second PC with FF 6 (too early in the AM and I was a bit 'foggy'). During the process I never saw a 'warning' about the changes to be made; these only appeared AFTER the update was done.
I started this since I have a problem with a secure WEB from my email service that started once I updated to FF 6. My thought was that it might be related to one or more of the missing Add-ons. I've posted a separate item on the forum indicating that the web page is secure (https) and that I have saved (but I not technical enough to 'read) the html of the page. Jim
