The Plugin compatiblity check has never finished, and comes up each time I start firefox
I updated Firefox a few days ago, and just about that time the Internet crashed, and was intermittent for a day. When Firefox ran, the Compatibility Check came up, as it does on each update.. It finally seemed to finish, and everything looked fine. The problem is that the Compatibility Check continues to come up each time I start Firefox.. It usually says it has finished checking Adblock, until it times out, but it can be any of my plug-ins/extensions. When I "cancel" the check, or if I wait for it to time out, all of my plug-ins seem to work, but Firefox's "What's New continues to come up along with my home page.. I checked my home page in options, and there are no extensions, like noted in a help example for version 3.6. I have downloaded and Firefox 10.0.2 again, ran it, but still the same problem..

Hi Stark,
You should look at this article about that specific issue and the article Preferences not saved. These should give you all the information you need!
If that doesn't work:
- Type about:config in the address bar
- Click I'll be careful, I promise if prompted
- In the Filter input field type startup
- Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
- Delete the text string and click OK
- Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
Hopefully this helps!
Half way home... Got rid of the "What's new" page, by deleting the override, but the "Compatibility Check" for plugins still comes up every time Firefox starts. I either have to wait a couple minutes for it to time out, or press cancel. All the plugins/extensions seem to work, either way..
Thanks for the fast reply, and assistance.

Some security software has virtualization features that can cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.
