Synced FF before OS reinstall, now trying to resync but dont have recovery key. How do I access my data?
Synced firefox before an OSX reinstall as I couldnt find the export bookmarks etc, and thought sync was the new incarnation of it. I didnt know there was a recovery key associated with the sync account, thought it was only user/login, so didnt make a note of it before the reinstall. My question is how do I access my data? Is there any way to email the recovery key to my associated email account, or to prove its me via some other method? I really dont want to lose whats in there!
Thanks in advance!

You don't. Without the Sync Key (Recovery Key) you can't access your data, unless you have a 2nd device connected to that Sync account to retrieve the Recovery Key from. Nobody has that "Key" except the user.
Oh no, so theres literally no way I can get anything back? I had pretty important things saved on there =(
hey, i did the same as this but i saved my recovery key, where do i go to enter it in and restore my old firefox? thanks
You can enter the account name (email address) and password and the 26 character Sync key manually to set up your Sync account.
- open "Tools > Options > Sync" or "Firefox > Set Up Sync"
- click "Set Up Firefox Sync" to go to "Firefox Sync Setup"
- click "I Have an Account" : Connect
- click "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom to enter the account settings
- click the "Sync Options" button at the bottom to select what to sync
hey, my firefox is a diff version to yours, latest i think, i have to go "(orange firefox tab-options-options-sync thanks
