download of update not completed
When I downloaded the latest upgrade, I was told to reboot, which I did. Since then every time I try to access the net I get a message saying my computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade.Do you want to reboot now? This goes on a loop, so I tried uninstalling Firefox, only to get message as above. What do I do?

Finally managed to completely uninstall Firefox, which became only way to solve my problem. Another day I'lltry downloading firefox again; fingers crossed it works ok. Thanks for all your help. Malcolm

Is this a Firefox message, or a Windows one?
Have you tried reinstalling Firefox?
I think it was a Windows message. I tried reinstalling Firefox, but message came up saying that previous update had to be completed first--talk about catch22!!
I would make sure you've fully shut down Windows and Started it back up (not put it to sleep, or hibernate). Then, if that doesn't work, do a System Restore.
Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
tried it, but afraid it didn't work. Any further suggestions?
Tried it,but same message came up, so no further forward. Any further ideas?
If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder. You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml (this will clear the update history).

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
You can also check the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) for files that are pending an update or for a possible updates folder.
