Hi all,

I rebooted and Firefox automatically upgraded to v 15.0.1. All my bookmarks, history, and open tabs have disappeared. I'm running Vista.

I've tried the solutions on the firefox page, nothing worked. E.g. tried to find profile file, no file there.

Such a pain that everything has gone! Hoping someone can help. Thanks in advance.

First of all backup your profile, put it somewhere safe outside Firefox paths (Vista's desktop will do).

Download an official up to date copy of Firefox (it is now 16.x) from

Run the installer to install Firefox 16 over the existing version, there is no need to remove any personal information (because that destroys book marks and passwords).

Run the new version of Firefox,if it does not work try running in safe mode
