How can I stop certain bookmarks (that I've already created) appearing during a bookmark search (either stand-alone bookmarks or those in particular folders)?

I have FF 22 installed on ThinkPad with Windows XP SP3 notebook.

What I'd like to do is prevent certain bookmarks or bookmark folders that I've created, from appearing in a bookmarks search.

For example, when I search on particular words in the bookmarks search box (whichever way it may get launched), I might search for a word like "roadmap". What I get at the moment is every bookmark I've already created that has that word in it - whether it's a public bookmark or one that's private to the organisation that I work for.

What I don't want to happen is for the private bookmarks to appear in the same search as the public one; I suppose I'm looking for a way to flag private bookmarks to not to appear in my bookmarks search.

Is this possible? Is there a add-on or something like that for this?

There is no such thing as public and private classifications for bookmarks in Firefox.

Have you considered using Tags, and then searching by the Tag?

"There is no such thing as public and private classifications" - that much is evident, hence why I'm asking the question as to whether any add-on or similar exists.

I don't want to use tags, because that complicates what is already an involved process.

I'd also like to keep the search process simple, and just have the 'public' bookmarks appear, not every single one that matches the search criteria.

That would be the best solution for me, I think, because if other staff use my machine (or if I hand in my notebook for repair), I'd like certain bookmarks to be almost invisible in searches.
