I was able to access LinkedIn yesterday. Today the Linked In shows "connecting" (basically spinning) from either Safari or Firefox (mac computer with current operating system). I'm able to access Linked In from my iphone. I've deleted cookies, cache, history, restarted. I'm not having a problem loading any other sites. Next steps?

Problem solved...changed the MTU setting from 1500 to 1280...not sure what that means but I found that solution doing massive searches on google. Hopefully my system doesn't blow up!

turn off your router for a while and give it a rest, that is usually the problem, also see.

Thanks for your quick response. However, the steps you suggested didn't work (router off for 15 minutes) with either Firefox or Safari. I'm hard connected to my router and I'm able to access all other sites except linked in. It's not a linked in site issue as I'm able to connect with my iphone. I also reviewed the link you suggested- none applies. Please advise

Another person in my home was able to get into Linked In on her Mac. The issue seems to be specific to my Mac. I wonder if there is a corrupt file somewhere connected to my LinkedIn access?

I followed the instructions in the discussion thread, but I don't know what I'm looking for with the host file. I'm not very tech savvy. :-( Here's what I saw:

  1. Host Database
  2. localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
  3. when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.

127.0.0.1 localhost 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost

1 localhost

fe80::1%lo0 localhost
