Each time I click on the X to open a new tab, the screen is blank. I would like for Bing, which is my homepage to load each time. How do I make this happen? Thank you.

Do the following:

  1. Go to about:config in Firefox
  2. Find the browser.newtab.url
  3. Change the value to your homepage URL

i tried this but it did not work. I need my homepage to be a specific website when I open a new tab. I know how to change my homepage when I open a new page, but not when I open a new tab. Is their any other solution?

A new tab should open with the page as set in the browser.newtab.url pref.
This is a different setting then the setting for the home page (browser.startup.homepage).

If that isn't working properly then you may have an extension interfering.

Note that you can open the home page in a new tab with a middle-click (or hold down Ctrl and left-click) the toolbar Home button. You can also do this with a bookmark if you need another page.
