getting error "Name Setup" button in box is "checking" - Started after downloading Mozilla FireFox 27.0.1 ~ please advise so it will stop.

This is the error box I get as soon as I open FireFox. I never had it before. It started as soon as I downloaded FF27.0.1. If you cannot help me, I will have to remove FF from the family computer because it is very annoying. If you click OK, it goes away for seconds and comes right back. I will await your reply.

Can you provide a screenshot of this message?

  1. Press the Print Screen on the keyboard to copy a screenshot to the clipboard (this key may be abbreviated as PrtScn or similar).
  2. Paste the clipboard contents into an image editor like Paint.
  3. Crop the image if necessary, then save it in PNG format.
  4. Below the reply box here, click the Browse button to attach the file.

Open the Help menu — either from the orange Firefox button or directly from the menu bar — and choose Restart with Add-ons Disabled. If the problem goes away, one of your extensions is the cause.

If the problem persists when starting with add-ons disabled, try the following.

  1. Open the Add-ons Manager, either from the orange Firefox button, the Tools menu on the menu bar, or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+A.
  2. Click the Plugins category on the left.
  3. On the right, set the status of every plug-in to Never Activate.
  4. Restart Firefox and check if the issue still occurs.
