I went to Thunderbird, clicked on 'File', 'New', then 'Get a New Mail Account'. I filled in my name, e-mail address (my att.net one), and my password. Everything seemed to be going fine until I hit 'Done'. Then I got this error message:

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/accountcreation/verifyConfig.js :: verifyConfig :: line 57" data: no]

I click 'Okay', and for the past 45 minutes I've had the little spiraling circle with 'Checking Password'. I put in the correct password for my AT&T account.

Help!

File > new > existing account is what you need.... you are adding an existing ATT account.
