Auto-complete is very slow when using our Active Directory server as an LDAP address book. However, using the address book by itself (from the Tools menu) is very snappy. Sometimes it will take up to 30 seconds for the list to come back, and often my entire desktop is locked up until it does. This is Thunderbird 24.6 on Linux, Linuxmint 17 (or Ubuntu 14, on the backside).
