Thumbnails in New Tab Page are not resizing

more options

Hey,

Since the latest update (33.0.2), the thumbnails for the websites on the 'New Tab Page' do not resize when the window is resized, so I cannot see all the thumbnails unless the window is full screen. It used to be that if I dragged the corner of the window to make it smaller or larger, the thumbnails would resize so I could always see all of them. I'm always multi-tasking and never have the browser full screen so it is a bit annoying.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit FireFox 33.0.2

Hello,

Not sure if this will answer your question, but if you want to set a fixed number of tiles, you can do so with the following extension:

You can also see jscher2000's Chosen Solution here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1025414 It requires the Stylish add-on but will automatically shrink the tiles on the page:

Thanks for the reply Cory. The issue that jscher2000 had is basically the same problem I'm having, but rather than just making all the thumbnails permanently smaller, I would like to restore the previous functionality that would resize them as needed. It always worked great until just a few days ago when I installed the latest update. Using jscher2000's solution would help, but not completely fix it... I can use that solution if that's the only thing I can do, but I would much rather get the previous method back.

Thanks again, I would love to hear if anyone thinks they have the fix.

You can zoom out the about:newtab page to resize the tiles.

This will however affect all elements on the page, so text get smaller as well.

Note that you can set additional zoom values if the current steps are too coarse.

Hi Bud_s, my style rule uses percentages, so the tiles change size as you resize the window. If you don't find another solution, you could give it a try. Because each user's resolution is different, you might find that the percentages are off by a point or two in one direction or another. After installing the rule you can use Manage Styles to call up an editing window and experiment.
