Bookmark folders should be synced
I have nearly 5000 bookmarks on PC Firefox in a complex folder structure. They appear to sync with Firefox Android, but minus the folders, so completely unusable. Are there plans to add folder support on Android? Ironically, exporting them to Chrome on the PC syncs them perfectly to Chrome Android.

HI Bruce, Thank you for your question. I understand that you have synced Bookmarks on Android, but the folder structure is not the same. If there were bookmarks on the device, each of the devices attached to the account will be merged.
Currently it is only possible to manage bookmarks on the desktop. It if possible to preserve the folder structure if you move the structure into Bookmark Menu Folder. After a sync you will see the structure in the Bookmarks Desktop folder on the Android.
However the limit on the android is 5k. This may be what has happened as well.
Thanks. All my desktop bookmarks are under the Bookmark Menu Folder on PC Firefox. I may have over 5,000, but no idea how to tell, so I will have to try pruning them down. There are a lot of dead ones from years ago, but it's a tedious process!
I thought I saw a mention of the number when importing into Chrome, but I've just done that again successfully, and there was no mention of numbers.
I have this problem to. I have well over 5k bookmarks which are very meticulously organised in folders and sub sub folders.
After importing they are just every where. I really like this browser to. But can't be used without proper bookmark management.
Will devs be adding a manager for bookmarks any time soon? To be honest this is the only browser I've ever used that don't support folders lol. Nothing is ever perfect. Please reply if they're are plans in adding a much needed bookmarks management
There is bookmark management functionality in the desktop version of Firefox as well as adding and removing bookmarks in the mobile version. However moving folders is a long requested feature in mobile, currently does not have an ETA.
So if I downloaded and installed the desktop firefox and imported my favourites with all folder structure then sync with my android version I would then have folders in android version?
And would I then be able to add and remove favourites to folders in the android version or would I have to add this new favourite on the desktop version and then sync to keep folder structure?
@Marty3, the bookmark file management is all done on the desktop version of Firefox. The bookmarks on the mobile device would be merged with those on the desktop. So yes, and no to the second.
