I did a refresh of Foxfire because I was having some problems and I read that it might help. After the refresh these dumb ads starting showing up above my emails and to the right of the email page. I got rid of them along time ago but can't seem to find the right place to get rid of them again. I have opted out of somethings but these keep showing up. Most annoying.

Sounds like you were probably using an Ad Block extension prior to doing that Refresh, which removes all the installed extensions. So now you need to reinstall an Ad Block extension.

I prefer uBlock Origin - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ - which I think might be better on an old WinXP PC then Adblock Plus.

Note: Update your out of date Adobe programs.

Are the ads in the e-mails, or on the web page?

Adblock Plus {web link} Blocks annoying video ads on YouTube, Facebook ads, banners and much more. Adblock Plus blocks all annoying ads, and supports websites by not blocking unobtrusive ads by default (configurable).

Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon {web link} Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon extends the blocking functionality of Adblock Plus to those annoying pop-up windows that open on mouse clicks and other user actions.

Thank you. That worked. Should of thought of that myself and saved the frustration.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.

I also have an ad that has appeared on my email page. To the right of the ad it says "Yahoo Gemini". The ad brought with it approx 100 spam emails a day. My CL tech said I needed to contact Yahoo to remove the ad but I've found no way to contact them about the problem. Can Mozilla help with this?
