Following reset of my computer, to remove a virus, cannot find my contacts?

Search your computer and any backups you made before resetting for files with a mab extension. The two in particular you would want are called abook.mab and history.mab.

If you find any, you can copy them back into Thunderbird's profile, replacing the new and presumably empty ones you have right now.
