Printer driver uninstalled/reinstalled. Firefox updated. Tried the remedies on the help menu. I can print anything from a file but when I try to print a web page Firefox crashes. Numerous crash reports have been sent in. Any suggestions?

If you click a link to inspect the crash report then you will notice this DLL in the crashing thread, so this printer driver is the likely cause of the crashes. We have seen more such reports with a 64-bit Firefox version and in a lot of cases using the 32-bit Firefox version worked to fix this.

Did you try the 32-bit Firefox version like I posted above?

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

That is a problem with a Canon driver (cnxdias2.dll).

Try the 32-bit Firefox version to see if that works better.

You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (57.0.2) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Cor-el,

My printer works on anything else I print from, e.g., Libre Office files, *.jpg. It is just when I attempt to print a web page that FireFox crashes. Do you still think I need that cnxdias2.dll. driver?

Thanks cor-el, Refreshing FireFox didn't help. I installed the 32-bit version as you suggested and I can now print web pages as before. Thanks again. I'm not clear on the difference between 32 & 64 bit versions, only thinking that bigger is better. I'm guessing everything else will work the same. FireFox has worked well using the 64-bit version up until recently. Probably one of the upgrades. I don't know. Thanks again for the positive feedback and the help. Happy New Year, Richard

The 64-bit Firefox version has a larger memory space (the 32-bit version is limited to about 3 GB), so out-of-memory issues are less likely.

If the 32-bit version works then this can mean that this driver is an older driver that isn't compatible with 64-bit applications. We have seen this reported with other drivers (Logitech QuickCam).
