How to import bookmarks from another user on my computer
I tried using the process described elsewhere with no success.
I have exported my bookmarks from the other user to an html file.
The bookmarks.html file is on my computer.
At the user where I want to import the bookmarks I followed the process given but no bookmarks materialized. Tried more than once.
Said to import from an html file, It opens the window to select the file. I click open. Then I am told to close the library window. Nothing happens. No bookmarks appear.
Using Firefox 52 ESR, the only version available for my computer. It says it is up to date.

When you import an HTML file, it maybe added as a new "Imported Bookmarks" folder at the end of the Bookmarks menu or in the Other Bookmarks category. Do you notice anything like that there before you close the Library window?
By the way, are you setting up a brand new Firefox profile or have you had problems with this one and you're trying to rebuild bookmarks?
I am starting bookmarks for this user. I want to have the same bookmarks for both users. Right now there are no bookmarks there. BTW, I ONLY want the toolbar bookmarks (and put in that place) but having the others too is no problem. If not put in the toolbar, the ones I want are in a large list of other bookmarks and basically useless to me.
Does the importing of bookmarks put the "toolbar" bookmarks in the toolbar? That is where I looked and they are not there.
I have had the profile for awhile but have not used it much. No bookmarks have ever been added to it.
Hi waynec444, sometimes the import matches the original location, and sometimes it just puts everything imported into one "Imported Bookmarks" folder and you need to move the toolbar items to the Bookmarks Toolbar yourself. I don't do enough importing to know the logic behind it.
To move items in the Library window, you can select them in the right pane and drag to the category in the left pane. Or you can select items and "cut" in the right pane, open the destination folder/category in the right pane, and "paste" there.
