Microsoft has added tabs below the FIrefox tabs that I would like to remove from my Surface laptop. The tabs are Most Visited, Getting Started and Surface. It is obvious that these tabs are a back door for Microsoft to obtains information that I consider to be private. How do I remove the tabs without have to reload everything and prevent Microsoft from doing this or something similar again?

Hi Craigrigby, it's possible Firefox imported those* from Edge or Internet Explorer during the initial setup. You should be able to right-click > Delete them.
It's very unlikely Firefox will import other browser settings again without you using the menu commands in the Library window for that.
* Favorites that Firefox imported to bookmarks.

Most Visited and Getting Started are default Firefox bookmarks.
