problem with cnn.com only
Started 10 days ago. Cnn.com has worked good in past. Now when i click to a story, it usually works. But when I click back it goes to bottom of main cnn page instead of where I click from. Usable but very annoying!

Hi dickryoung, when you use Back, Firefox goes to the last vertical scroll position it had stored for that page. However, this position might be incorrect because it was saved AFTER some additional content loaded into the page, like large images or videos.
What Firefox does as that content starts to load in changed in Firefox 66:
Firefox 65: Firefox scrolls the page as content loads above the current position, so the content you started viewing would move down. This may or may not land you in the right spot eventually.
Firefox 66: Firefox freezes that position as that content reloads above it. This makes it easier to use links with anchors (hash tags) on them.
Which you prefer depends on your browsing style and pages you visit. At least for now, you can easily switch back to the old behavior and decide which works better for you.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste anch and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the layout.css.scroll-anchoring.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false
Another workaround: Many users like to load stories in new tabs so they don't have to go Back. As you probably know, you can direct a link to a new tab using any of these methods:
- right-click the link > Open Link in New Tab
- Ctrl+click the link
- middle-click the link with the mouse scroll wheel
Then you close the article tabs as you finish and end up back on the tab where you started.
I get around this by; When I find a link I want to check out, I open it in a new tab/window. Then when I am done, I close it and am back where I started.
