If I use Firefox sync on my computer with a lot of existing saved passwords on Firefox will those passwords be wiped?

more options

Let's say I have a computer that I use firefox day to day on (and store many passwords and login details in the browser) and do not have firefox sync enabled on it. I want to use firefox sync on said computer but I dont want to lose all the existing passwords and login details on that computer without firefox sync. Will connecting firefox sync affect any of my existing data?

No, existing data won't be lost. Your existing data will be copied and sent to the Sync server to be merged with your Firefox data that is already connected to Sync.

Note that you should still backup your personal data.

Do you have other devices that are currently connected to the Firefox Account you want to use for Sync?

Thanks for the support link with the tutorial on how to back up my existing Firefox profile, that was very helpful!

To answer your question, yes, there are devices currently connected to the Firefox Account I want to use for the sync feature.
