How do I open pdf's embedded in a pdf (i.e. open pdf's contained in the attachments (paperclip) section of a pdf)?

more options

I use a piece of software which generates a parent pdf which contains an embedded zip file and an embedded pdf as attachments to the parent pdf. Is there currently a way to access the embeded pdf in Firefox? I'm certain I used to be able to do this, but now clicking the embedded pdf link does nothing. I can still access and download the embeded zip file using Firefox.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. I am aware I can access the embedded pdf through Adobe, but using Adobe I cant acccess the the Zip file without editing the registry. This approach is not an option. Similarly downloading other software is not an option.

p.p.s I cannot post a represantative file

Hmm, it seems to be blocked when I test it using this file: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/temp/Links-attachments-PDFs.pdf

When I try the built-in version of the viewer, the Web Console shows an error:

Error: Access to 'blob:resource://pdf.js/8bbbc754-0f4f-4a08-b9ce-920ba75c0850?Amarin_COVID-19%20menu%20(01191490).PDF' from script denied

Sounds like a security-related restriction?

However, when I use the web app version of the viewer, it works. You can test by uploading a PDF file into this viewer using the Open File button between the Presentation Mode and Print buttons:

https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html

So I filed a new bug and hopefully someone can figure it out: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1632644

If you recall it working in a particular earlier version, that might be useful to add. There is a process for nailing down the exact change that breaks something, but due to "stay at home" I don't have enough bandwidth to run it:

This works for me with Firefox 68.7.0 ESR and up to Firefox 74 (75 and newer do not work).

Thanks. I was able to get through the mozregression in about 5 YouTube videos.
