what happens to emails in Local Folders when archive is selected

more options

I needed to send copies of emails stored in a local folder to someone else and didn't want to forward them individually so I tried to be smart... I highlighted the emails and hit archive. Now there are no emails and there isn't an archive folder in Local Folders. Have I lost the emails? Where did they go to?

thanks

Hmm answering my own question...

I found that the Local Folder's contents are stored in user/myname/profileName.default/Mail/Local Folders. Inside that I found that I still have the email contents next problem ...

I copied the file with the folder name I was looking for to another place (backups being a good plan) and opened it with Notepad++ Discovered the X-Mozilla-Status: line. I'd already found the ImportExportTools NG extension. I made a new folder in local folders. From a snippet gained from elsewhere I discovered that X-Mozilla-Status: 0009 isn't a valid email and so changed it to X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 (excavated from another snippet of an answer).

Used the ImportExport extension and got ONE email imported. The others are there but ....

I think I need some help understanding what I need to do to get all of the emails in my mbox file recorered. Bit frustrating as I think I got to the general principle, now I have to ask for help in moving along the road to recovery. thanks

I don't know what a local folder is. I just know the "archived" email disappeared. Well, now I looked, found "Archives" on the left side in all the various folders, found "archive" inside that, the email wasn't there. I found "Local Folder" at the bottom, two stray emails there from whenever, not the one I just sent down. It was a test, not an important email.
