FireFox Latest Update Failure
Hello, FireFox Updated my 17" MacBook Pro- High Sierra on July 30, 2023 successfully to 115.03. There was another update today Aug 1st 115.1esr, which said it Failed for an unknown reason. Can anyone tell me how I can find out what happened? See attached update message.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmm the Fx 115.1.0 esr is scheduled for Release today and does exist in release folder so the update should work.
Try checking for updates manually. You can also wait to see if you get a working update in next few days or download and install the Fx 115.1.0 esr
You can download it from https://www.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr (make sure 115.10esr is selected and not 102.14.0esr) or from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/115.1.0esr/mac/
Some Mac and Windows users have reported getting a failed update to 115.1.0esr for over a week now even though it was not available in Release folder till yesterday.
So you know, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 OS users are being served the Fx 115 ESR channel in order to get updates for security/stability fixes until Sept 2024. Fx 116 and later requirs Windows 10 and macOS 10.15 or later to run.

Meanwhile Chrome, Chromium, Opera, Edge already dropped support of the old EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 back in January/February.
Hey James, I don't know what happened but I just downloaded 115.1esr and it went through. I dont know what happened but its ok now. NO I didnt know that updates would be done for my OS in Sept 2024. Just another nail in my very capable but old MacBook Pro's coffin. I wish Mozilla would send out an email to all its users, hopefully they will send one out next year. Good news is Ive been anticipating this and have been saving up for a new/refurb MBP. I thank you very much for that bit of information and your help. Have a great weekend!
