Layout problem, can't find the menu tab to change layout of my email
I'm working in Windows 11 on my PC and can't find the menu tab to change layout of my email. The only instructions I see were posted ibn 2017. Why is this so difficult?

if the menu bar is not visible, press the alt key. then, click view>layout. OR, you can select the hamburger menu in upper right and click view>layout. It's pretty simple, really.
Pressing ALT when viewing my Inbox or Email Form produces nothing. Neither is there a "hamburger" in the upper right hand corner, only 3 horizontal dots.
In that case, rightclick on the top level strip and the menu bar option should appear. More info on that here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/display-thunderbird-menus-and-toolbar
Sorry, David, but nothing happens here either. Let's forget it, OK? Thanks for trying to help. Dave

If none of the suggestions work, you may have a corrupted installation. Downloading and installing the latest over the existing one may fix it. I'm content to stay with you, if desired.
If I unload and reload Thunderbird, my emails and addresses will still be there?
No need to uninstall. Just install over it. The profile will still be there.
This is what my email form looks like now. Note the two line menu bar; when it opens, only the top line is visible so I must click on the three horizontal dots.
Please do a screenshot from main view. That may prove more helpful.
Uh-oh. I haven't done that many screen shots; what is meant by "main view"?
I am referring to how thunderbird looks when you start it.
How's this?
Are you using any addons that may affect how thunderbird looks? Your screenshots look alien to me. Just to check, please click help>troubleshoot mode and restart. You will receive a prompt on whether this should be permanent. On that prompt, just click the button to continue in troubleshoot mode, not ticking any box. THEN, on restart, do a screenshow of how the thunderbird screen looks on startup with no addons.
Followed your instruction, but the page looks the same without add ons.
Please do Help > About to show the thunderbird version. What is the full version number.
In conversation with Roland, it looks like you are using a browser.
I don't follow you here. Sorry.
Thunderbird doesn't run in a browser. And as far as we can see from your screen shots these are all browser pages, not Thunderbird.
OK, so then what should I do?
