Downloads window (if open), after download completes, forces windows taskbar to stay open (from autohide) until you click on the related taskbar icon/button (attention grabbing). Anyway to stop this?

Latest Firefox 4 as of today (3/29/11), updated from 3.6.16. OS is XP pro SP3 retail. Same problem on two identical systems, no such issue with 3.6.16, or any other version of Firefox I've used.

Ok, so here I am answering my own question. Solution:

  1. about:config
  2. search for flashcount to locate browser.download.manager.flashCount
  3. set value to 0

Issue goes away. More information available here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Download_Manager_preferences
