Completed all Troubleshooting steps but continue to get slow downs from unresponsive scripts on Firefox. Is there a way to use my browser w/out slow downs?

Mac OSX. I've gone through the list of troubleshooting tips for slow downs and for unresponsive scripts. I continue to get slow downs to my computer and browser when I use my Firefox. It is becoming so bad that sometimes I cannot get work done.

I already did this before doing the rest of the troubleshooting. I continue to have the same problem. I had even been trying to add certain sites to an add-on that blocked these sites with the unresponsive script. It does not work.

I have cleared cache, cookies, history, etc. I have followed the directions for Unresponsive Script. I have followed all the steps in Troubleshooting Extensions and Themes.

I continue to get slow downs. More please.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Ok, well... I finally created a new profile. The ONLY file I copied over was the bookmarks file. And, from there, I reopened all the tabs I had open before (because I really have to keep working). This slow down and the spinning wheel is continuing.

When I first started the new profile with the bookmarks, it was fast, everything was fine... just like when I would force quite the old profile. But then, after 15 min or so, it slowed down again... just like the old profile.

1) what else can I do?? 2) Can it really be my bookmarks?? 3) is there a maximum number of tabs allowed to be open? 4) I already checked - there are no extensions, and I disabled a number of plug ins.

Maybe, instead of making users go through all this (because I've discovered there are a number of other people who are having the same issue), maybe Firefox should consider trying to troubleshoot this and fix it with an update...

Mac OSX Latest version of Firefox stalls/hangs up and required force quite/restart to work well again every 15 min.

And now, I think I've identified part of the issue. When you pin tabs as an app tab, this slows down Firefox in all the ways I mentioned. Please, please Firefox, if you are going to offer such a useful and simple thing, make sure that it works...

Having closed these App Tabs, I had a temporary break from the slow downs... Then after another few minutes, the slow downs in Firefox continued... At my wits end.
