my desktop xp crashed losing all profile data. back up device failed to back up profile. i copied my windows 8 laptop profile to desktop xp profile folder. Now, web pages are distorted with jumble lines of text. How do i fix this?

Only copy the files that you really need and not the full profile folder.

I solved the problem by simply adjusting the screen resolution on screen properties. No need to mess with the profile files.
