when i installed firefox i also got something called Otshot. it's not in my directory of programs. how do i uninstall it?

If you got Firefox from Mozilla directly, there would be no unwanted "extra" like that in it. You might have picked up the junk from installing something else and not paying attention to what was happening with the installation. That is a common problem with Windows software. You have to watch out for checked checkboxes offering to install something else.
