Firefox just upgraded today 2013/06/26 to version 22, and Selenium IDE 2.0 lost all color - no green, red, or yellow indicators- thinking of uninstalling FF
Firefox just upgraded today (June 26, 2013) to version 22, and selenium lost all color - no green, red, or yellow progress indicators, and when double clicking on a test case, it used to turn bold so you knew which one you were editing, or running.. no longer bold text. Need to know if anyone else has this issue, where else I can get confirmation for reporting it, (most other forums seem dead), and any other suggestions for getting help. Im using Ubuntu 12.04 and thinking of uninstalling Firefox 22, and redownloading an older version 21, but I'm not finding up to date accurate package manager info for Ubuntu uninstall procedures either.

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors in Firefox.
- Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that this settings affect background images.
This is not a web page issue, and this is not an image issue.. Just so everybody can understand -> Selenium is a Quality Assurance testing tool - a plugin for Firefox..
Resetting Firefox wont likely reset colors (inside Selenium IDE 2.0) for the code that the plugin runs on. At this point I dont know why Firefox can upset the code that Selenium runs on, but Selenium generates line by line of highlighted color over each line of script, as each line passes or fails (inside the Selenium window, not a web page) - also the bold text font is broken inside Selenium window.
I uninstalled Firefox22 and am now using Firefox21 again with the "auto-update" feature turned off so I can continue to work until Firefox or Selenium release a new code fix. The auto-update feature got me into the new version of Firefox and as always nobody knew what would break, if anything.
Im using Ubuntu12.04 and uninstalling Firefox and re-installing (trying to find a compatible replacement for the Ubuntu package I had) was a mess.. unlike windows based uninstall packages which automate the process, but thats another issue.
Inform selenium about this. http://docs.seleniumhq.org/support/
P.S. I did not test solutions above, as I can leave testing Firefox to someone else, I've got work to get done, however after I reinstalled Firefox21, I did look for "Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors" in the Firefox21 version I went back to, and it is checked as suggested.. I can only assume it was set to factory default when the auto-update put me into Firefox22, but I cant confirm it was true since I've reinstalled Firefox21 already.
I'm still on 22.0 and it is set to "Allow pages to choose their own colors" - I'm having same issue with Selenium, and also finding it no longer likes clicking some buttons.
Hi - I have same issue as Question Owner - did suggestion of Reset Firefox through the troubleshooting menu, and it didn't fix the issue. I'm going back to 21 as well as I need Selenium.
If your problem is with a plugin or add-on for Firefox, contact the developer of that add-on for support and advice on their product; or see if an updated version is available. If changes to Firefox (like a new version release) breaks or changes how the plugin or add-on works with Firefox, it is up to the developer of that add-on to fix their product.
I did post a bug report on Selenium support page here: http://code.google.com/p/selenium/issues/list and when I went back to look for it, it's not yet approved, or it's gone.
However, the bad news is that the newest bug report before mine was in 2009, as far as I can tell which is now about 4 years ago. So I'm hoping other enterprising individuals who still use Selenium wont be ambushed by this bug stopping their work, as well Im hoping enough Selenium users can corroborate if it truly is the plugin, or if it is Firefox.. To be determined.
@qa-segmint: what you have seen are the *oldest* open bugs. Select "sort down" in the ID column header to have the latest reports at the top.
And while I'm not using Selenium IDE, Selenium Server was also incompatible with FF22, which was fixed in the latest nightly builds. So I guess you can be quite confident your issue will be fixed soon.
