Why do I keep getting "channel157tv" pop-ups; they occur whether I originally had Firefox running or not.
Periodically I return to my computer to find a Firefox window open. The URL present is "http://tv.channel157news.com/news/?ilmernzkvtazn=E0469AA4E32E8B6A&pu=&s=D-firefox&nm=ilmernzkvtazn&t=" and the text present is "Why am I seeing this ad? Click here." I have already both resent and un/re-installed Firefox and it does not appear to have helped. It is listed in my History as "Sponsorship." Does this have some proper relation to Firefox, or did something slip past my anti-virus/Malwarebytes/etc.?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I have already run a full Malwarebytes scan, as well as a TDSSKiller scan, and neither found anything. My AVG is up to date, as are the prior two programs. I still have these popups, however.
Try the other antimalwares i linked above.
