Note that Firefox 23 (to be released later this week) no longer supports the keyword.URL pref that allows to set the search engine only for the location bar search in the current release.
Firefox 23 will use the default search engine as set for the search bar.
Note that Google will automatically redirect to the local version of Google as derived from a reverse DNS look up of the IP.
There is usually a link at the bottom of such a local page to go to the (international) Google.com website.
This choice is remembered in a cookie stored on the computer.
You can get more Google search engines, including a 'No country redirect' version, on the Mycroft Project website.

Hello Amit, you can use this add-on searchreset
@amitshree
I was really looking for a way without using any add-ons. Maybe a change in settings like about:config?
Hello ams963, I forgot to tell you that this add-on will be automatically destroyed once your homepage is set. You do not have to uninstall/remove it. Do you still need other methods?
