"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete" is an error message that pops up on Firefox every time I pause/skip advertisement on a YouTube video. When I do click on the YouTube video, it freezes for 10/15 seconds before the dialogue box appears.
I have been researching this and cannot find a successful solution. One answer regarding going to 'about:config' and changing a response time will eliminate the dialogue box, but the 15 second freeze will still occur each time.
I have also uninstalled then re-installed both Firefox and flash player, but no changes.
What did kind of work though is before I re-downloaded Adobe Flash Player, the video would run perfectly, which makes me think the problem lies within the Flash Player. But Flash Player is a must especially on Facebook and other sites.
Also to note; I am operating a Microsoft Surface Pro and when I use the keypad mouse there is no problem, but only when I physically touch the screen.
It would be great to get some kind of solution to this otherwise I'm back to using explorer!

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
- Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
- Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
- Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
- Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.
The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
- Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
- Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
- Restart Firefox.

Thank you for the reply FredMcD but unfortunately this has not solved my problem.
Note that this only occurs on YouTube for me and is now getting quite annoying
Try this: Go to Program Defaults and Settings: Highlight Firefox. Press Remove! Solved!

ShinMeiyoh... On a Microsoft Surface Pro, explorer runs like shit (especially when streaming live NBA which is what I do most) and Chrome is either blurry or too small for a touch screen (depending on your settings), so Firefox seems to be the only choice for me.
