Why does Firefox redirect Google Scholar to a university login page?

When I try to go to Google Scholar, Firefox redirects me to my old university login page even though I am no longer affiliated with the university. I have tried deleting browser data and reinstalling Firefox, but the problem persists. This does not happen on other browsers.

You can check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
