Lost all sync information during Developer update
11.11.14
Today Aurora updated to the new Developer version, which is awesome! Except, all of my sync information was lost (bookmarks, add-ons, settings, etc). I tried to set up the sync again, and learned that there is a new version of sync in which you have to create a new account. I created a new account, but that obviously doesn't solve my problem because all of my sync information disappeared once the update was applied. I have been searching the forums and cannot seem to find a solution.
I have gone to https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ to find an older version of Firefox to install, sign into sync (old) in order to retrieve my information, then upgrade to my new sync account, but I am not sure how to navigate this directory. Can anyone help me find the installation file for the latest version of Firefox just before the developer version for Windows 8.1? Or if you also have this problem or know of a solution for it, some advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Thank you Philipp! I used the second option listed in the link you posted:
Load about:preferences in Firefox's address bar and make sure the General group is selected.
There you find a new option to "allow Firefox Developer Edition and Firefox to run at the same time".
Uncheck the option and restart Firefox. It should load the old profile again automatically.
After this, I upgraded to my new sync account. After all of my stored information was synced, I repeated the steps and checked the "allow Firefox Developer Edition and Firefox to run at the same time" option and restarted Firefox.
