I have been an Iwin client for the past 6 years, but since my computer was trashed by hackers I cannot connect to Iwin. I constantly get the "Timed out" message. No other site does this. Can you please help me.

Chosen solution

  • Try www.iwin.com <= from this link does that work ?
  • Try from another alternative browser.
    • You no doubt have Internet Explorer does that work ?

If it is only problem on Firefox clear any cookies for that site then try the above link again using keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F5 to reload without cached items

What security related software including any Firewall And Anti Virus are you using ? Could that be interfering ?

Incidentally, and you would need to discus any details elsewhere, but if your computer is a Desktop type PC rather than a Laptop it may be possible to install more than one Hard Disk Drive. If so you could consider reformatting and using the old drive within the PC as a second HDD.

Alternatively if it is in good working condition consider putting it in a USB caddy and using it for additional external storage.

Did you reinstall Windows after hacking? If not, did you try to clean cache or reinstall Firefox? Maybe your computer kept infected files which are involved in Iwin website access

I had to get a completely new Hard Drive Not only was the old one so badly infected that it wasn't worth doing anything with but I needed a bigger one. There was a completely fresh install of all programs, including Windows 7 and FireFox. There is no logical reason why I cannot connect to the website.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

  • Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

If you keep having problems then create a new profile.

Thank you very much. Removing the cookie solved the problem! I'm very pleased. Thanks again!
