I have 4 email accounts. Two are in the Local Folders. Two are in their own root folders. How do I move all email account folders into a Local Folder subfolder?

Under the Name column in Thunderbird we have the email folders and the Local Folders as root folders. Two of my email accounts exist inside the Local Folders. Each of those 2 accounts receive email in their own unique subfolder. Two more email accounts show up outside of the Local Folders and in their own unique root folder. I want to move all email account folders to a subfolder of the Local Folders.

At present the left column takes up too much vertical space and the email root folders are all in bold type. If they are closed, so the subfolders do not show, there is no indication I’ve received new mail. The 2 email accounts residing inside the Local Folders function better and occupy less vertical space in the Name column.

Unified Folders View is not an option.

The link http://kb.mozillazine.org/Global_Inbox is the perfect solution. Then I wrote message filter rules to put the right emails from each account into its own folder.

Thanks.
