Separate Issue; Your System Details shows;

Installed Plug-ins

VLC media player Web Plugin 2.0.6 VLC media player Web Plugin 2.1.3
Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Are you allowing all cookies because both for www.merrickbank.com and merrickbank.com cookies are set?

The ask me setting likely won't works as well as extensions that manage the cookies.

Clear the cache and remove cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
