For several months now, Firefox has been crashing at random times. I have been ignoring it for the most part, but it has been happening more frequently the last few days, so I want to finally try to figure out what's going on. I have tried updating Firefox (as well as my add-ons and plug-ins), but it hasn't helped. All of my software and applications are currently updated. And as far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be anything specific that triggers the crashes. Sometimes it will happen when I go to a Youtube link or another web link and sometimes it will happen when I'm trying to close a tab.

I'm currently using Firefox 45.0.3 on Mac 10.11.4 EL Capitan. I run malware scans regularly with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, neither of which have turned up anything malicious in the recent past. Here are my 5 latest crash reports:

That is a problem with Trusteer software (trf.dylib and RapportUtil1.dylib).

  • bug 1255026 - Crashes in Trusteer Rapport code in both Firefox 44 and 45.

Make sure that you have the latest updates of your Trusteer software. You can contact Trusteer for support.

Try to update or uninstall and reinstall Trusteer Rapport and if that doesn't help then disable/stop the program for now.

  • Mac: System Preferences -> Other -> Rapport -> Stop Rapport

Hi Corel,

Thanks for replying to my question so quickly I appreciate it. But what about the other Highlighted things on the report like AppKit, CoreVideo and CoreFoundation, should I be worried about these?

Thanks!

Highlighted items mean that the crash server doesn't have symbols of this specific file version because no one has uploaded them. It is normally not an indication that something is wrong with the file and you can ignore it.
