Thunderbird forces me to enter mt Outgoing and incoming server passwords when I launch TB. I noticed when I send a email the password is showm following my screen name on all outgoing emails. This doesn't seem like it would be very good for security. To see if the password is visible to others, I sent an email to myself and the password is there, right behind my screen name.

This absolutely shouldn't happen.

Can you post a screenshot showing where this happens? You should, of course, obliterate both your email address and the password.

hello - as requested, I have created a screenshot of the TB Screen with my screen name shown in the from column folloed by the password for the incoming and outgoing servers. I am sending a version with the name and PW erased but if you need a clean version let me know. My emails have been to forums that reach far & wide. Thanks for the help.... Larry
