I'm an old timer with comp industry and Tbird. This time I'm stumped, frustrated, and troubled. Am on the verge of giving up Tbird that has served so well for so long. My problem is similar or same on two computers. After receiving notice from Tbird that the PW is no good and I must supply another, I have gon to Yahoo Mail and changed my password. This new password is good for Yahoo mail, which seems to be a copy of the Tbird contetnt is slightly altered format. Nevertheless, the new password still doesn't work when I try it on Tbird.

I must be doing some thing simple, but very wrong. Your help will will really be appreiated. I've lost a lot of time on this and it has become a hardship.

Thanks.

Two guesses, based on failing passwords as Thunderbird does not expire a password, only reports that what it has will not work.

  • Have you enabled the less secure apps setting on yahoo. That is required to use a mail application with yahoo now? They did not tell you? They told no one really.
  • Have you tried disabling your anti virus email scanner. They often mess up getting of email.
