I can't access google.com or any google search result for about 1 or 2 minutes, then the problem disappear for 5 or 10 minutes and I can access google normally, then the problem occurs again. This problem started two days ago I guess. This problem happens only with google.com and only while using Firefox. I can access google normally using Chrome or IE. I have windows 7 x64 and my Firefox version is 50.1.0

Some other users are having problems with Google sites that may be intermittent. Possibly related thread started yesterday: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1151744. That is unsolved, but you might glance through it for additional suggestions and what happened when that poster tried them.

Can you rule out a malware infection? The reason I ask is in case third party software is impersonating Firefox, and Google is shutting out Firefox temporarily because it looks like a bot. This article suggests tools for scanning/cleaning Windows systems: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware. The programs are free (or have free trials not requiring any payment card information).

Thanks for replying. I'll check that thread. I also scanned my PC using Avast and Malewarebytes, I'll try to use the other scanning/cleaning programs today.

You can check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

Check out why the site is untrusted.

  • click the "Advanced" button to expand this section to see extra details.

If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source. Click the "Add Exception" button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer.

If you can't inspect the certificate via "Add Exception" then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website with the https:// protocol prefix (https://xxx.xxx).

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. If necessary then please attach a screenshot that shows the Certificate Viewer with the issuer.
