My computer was wiped clean, but I had previously created a sync account. When I installed firefox and signed into it, all my saved bookmarks were gone.
I do not know what to do. I had a mozilla sync account with all my bookmarks. My computer had a problem and I had to have the hard drive wiped clean. After re-installing mozilla firefox, I signed into my sync account and none of my bookmarks are there. Can anyone help me?

Didn't they create a backup of the drive before wiping it clean?
Did you reset the password of the Sync account?
Note that all data on the Sync server is reset if you change the password of the Sync account. This is because the password is used to encrypt your personal data locally before it is uploaded and only this password can decrypt this data.
Note that Sync isn't designed to be used as a backup device, but merely to sync data between multiple devices.
It is not guaranteed that you can restore data from the Sync server in case of problems with your OS or because you otherwise lost data. Best is always to backup your personal data locally to be sure to be able to recover from issues.
Thanks for your reply - I did not re-set the password. However, it looks like the tech re-named the computer. I can see that the sync from 4 months ago and 7 months ago exists, but there does not seem to be any way to import the bookmarks I had previously. So frustrating. I don't think he backed up the programs - just some documents.
If there is anyone out there who can figure out how to import the bookmarks that were synced, I'd be grateful. In the synced account, under devices, I can see a 'disconnect' button next to 3 listings - current, one from 4 months ago and one from 7 months ago, but there is no option to get the list back from the earlier bookmarks. They should have imported to my account when firefox was reinstalled but they did not. Is there any way to retrieve them? I will never be able to remember everything I bookmarked. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help!
