Hi Guys, I have been a F/F user since WIN 95 and have F/F installed on my Android Tablet as well as my PC. Recently the F/F on my ASUS tablet (Version 4.0.3) will not run and I get an error message that the latest version (the one that is loaded on the tablet) will not work with my version of Android. I have tried downloading F/F 53.0.2 which I believe WILL work, however I can't get it to download at all from some sites, other downloads that have been completed will not open "File open failed". Please advise how I go about getting F/F to run on my tablet. It is causing me many issues as the majority of 'Desktop' icons fail to load and display an error message telling me to update. The icon on the desktop is linked to F/F 54 (the latest version of course because I try to keep my computers running the latest and therefore most secure). Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks again Seburo for taking an interest....No, I am trying to load direct from Firefox web (Android version of course). On a couple of occasions the file has downloaded OK but when I try to open the file in 'Downloads' I get the error message that 'file open failed' Is that helpful? On the subject of Google Play; something puzzles me. I select an app (say weather zone) and the app is displayed saying INSTALLED, but it's not. I haven't even downloaded it. I click on INSTALLED a few times and then a message says NO CARRIER Chuwi Hi-Pro 10 (Or ASUS TF100) that's fine as I use WiFi to connect to the net. I click on that message and a further message is displayed say YOUR APP WILL BE INSTALLED SOON it never is. If you have the time could you perhaps explain what I'm not doing correctly? Kind regards Peter

Not sure I know the answers to your . Your Android tablet presumably already has some Apps preinstalled on it that will update on Google Play store is that correct. Do these Apps appear to be updating correctly when you look at the Google Play store.

What about Apps you installed yourself

  • Have you managed to install any at all yourself from play store?
  • Have you installed any others yourself from other sites yet ?

If your tablet is an ASUS TF101 then the tablet has a CPU that is no longer compatible with Firefox. The Firefox 53 release added a requirement that the CPU support a feature called NEON that allows for significant improvements when performing tasks like decoding video.
