Hi sir/ma'am,

I've tried reinstalling Firefox, but when it restart. It shows tab error as you can see in the attachment. And if I give Firefox a tune up, it does the trick before I restart Firefox (which safe mode doesn't). I did pretty much whatever I could including scanning for viruses, checking ram errors, even deleting and re-adding firefox into firewall's safe list. I really need the solution, please help! BTW, all the other browsers such as chrome work well.

Hello, could you please expand on what type of error you experiencing. Are Tabs crashing when opening, or error messages when open a New Tab..? Please expand in detail of what starts the Issue and then What Issue you are experiencing. Do these issues effect Firefox without Tabs opened ?

Please expand in detail what Extensions & Plug-ins you have installed, the Anti-virus/Firewall program you have running. What OS are you running and what version of Firefox please. As this info is not showing here.

Sorry for my late reply. The problem's been solved. There's something wrong with a plug-in and I found a way to fix it. Thank you for taking the time.

Glad to hear that the issue is sorted. I and PKshadow would still like to investigate as to what caused the issues and which plugins. Could you name them? and full details of Pk's question as well.

Here's some info. OS: window 10 Plug-in: see the attachment. Anti-virus: Avira Firefox version: 54.0.1 Details: The plug-in, Logitech SetPoint, was disabled (because it can't be identified) and unable to be removed (but there's nothing in the plug-in folder). So I redownload it, which solved the problem. However, when I remove the newly downloaded Logitech plug-in, I still get the same issue.

This may be your problem,

Firefox v52+ disables all plugins except for Flash Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work? {web link}

Thanks Fred for the information, I wasn't aware of this either..... Could be a solution for more people as well!

I've read it. But still don't know how I can remove an irremovable plugin. There's no button that I can press to do with the old logitech plugin :'(

The attached image shows two logitech plugins (or in fact add-ons), and the highlight one is the troublemaker.

It could be a malware related issue. Try looking at your installed programs to find any ones you do not recognize.

Additionally, a full scan with anti-virus and anti-malware software could help you. Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro or ADWCleaner.

You could try doing a reset of your browser to factory settings. You could also try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.

Let me know if this helps!

I've full scanned several times. And I'm not the only one who encounter this issue. I found some discussions and tried the last suggestion as below page.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/967427

Unfortunately, I can't find extensions.sqlite on my SQLite Manager. (See the attachment)

Extensions are options you install into Firefox, They can be removed at will. Plugins are from programs that Firefox finds already on your system.

An extension without a Remove button is really a plugin. The only way to remove a plugin is to remove its program from your system. However, you can disable extensions and plugins if you want.

Good point by Fred. Plugins are manifested in a form of a program on your system, just like any other application. In this case, it seems to have attached to your Firefox as well.

So you did multiple scans with anti-malware and they haven't found the program? Interesting, never seen multiple anti-malware fail like that.

Hi there, I tried removing logitech in my computer, which did solved the problem. But since I still need the app (I downloaded the latest version, it's of no use though), I guess I have to tolerate this inconvenience.

BTW, I had also tried the following way. From here: https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/1078339

Hi itanimulli, check this:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste xpin and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the xpinstall.signatures.required preference has a value of true then double-click it to switch it to false. If that preference does not exist, then it is not possible to run unsigned extensions in the version you're running.

Did the method help you in any way or is this just an alternative to the problem? And unfortunate to hear, that the inconveniences happen, but it is how it is. Good luck!
