When I type in Firefox, there is a notable lag before the letters show up, causing a lot of typos. It is also very slow when I click on an item on a web page. The typing is what is causing the most problems. I have version 56, updated as necessary. This was not really a problem until a couple of weeks ago.

No now that you have refreshed other than when you go to get a new Extension Look for the Compatible with Firefox 57

Note : Firefox 56.0.2 is current release Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.

It may look the same but a wack of changes going on.

In future please turn on send info to Mozilla before making a post. We have no info to help you with that that would have been sent to help us understand Extensions, video card, Flash ......

This is just guessing because of no info.

Try : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-slow-how-make-it-faster plus https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration TRY NO HARDWARE ACCELERATION

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

From Firefox Toolbar , Tools --> Options --> Privacy & Security under Permissions. Note this will not work for this question but for future please do turn on. It's like 3 blind mice on this end. Thanks.

Any of the above helping you ? More to check out if not.

Thanks for your help. So far, I have only turned off hardware acceleration which not helped. It will take me a while to try everything else. I will post if/when I am able to solve this.

Refreshing Firefox seems to have eliminated the problem. However, how can I know which extension, add on or setting made the problem start? I had a lot of customization over the years and I cannot remember most of them. Thank you for your help.
